By being in the right place at the right time, William Byron secured a milestone victory for his Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 team at Darlington Raceway. One year after being denied the Darlington win on the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® by a bump-and-run move, Byron benefitted by when the top-two combatants tangled late in the 2023 edition of the Goodyear 400. Byron was in third when the top two drivers got together and opened the door for his special throwback Axalta No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro to lead the final two laps. Byron’s third win of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series® season was also the 100th all-time for the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 car.
