Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin benefitted from swift pit road work and a great launch on an Overtime restart during the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® at Darlington to earn asecond-straight NASCAR Cup Series® victory. Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE, which donned a throwback paint scheme that paid tribute to NASCAR Hall of Fame® driver Carl Edwards’ mid-2000s livery, took the lead thanks to a strong final pit stop. When the green flag flew for the two-lap Overtime sprint to the finish, Hamlin sped away from the field and scored the win on the heelsof his Martinsville victory one week earlier.
