In July of 1996, NASCAR® legend Bobby Labonte drove a special maroon-and-yellow paint scheme on his No. 18 car at Talladega to celebrate team owner Joe Gibbs’ induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The famous colors of the Washington football team that Coach Gibbs took to big game victories for more than a decade will ride again at Darlington Raceway in 2023. Gibbs’ grandson, Ty Gibbs, will wheel a special throwback No. 54 Toyota Camry TRD that reflects Labonte’s tribute car from the 1996 Talladega race with the support from Shriners Hospital for Children. Fans of Joe Gibbs Racing can now add the official Lionel Racing die-cast of the No. 54 Shriners Hospital for Children Throwback Toyota Camry TRD to their own collections.
