Alex Bowman and his primary sponsor Ally will race a special salute to United States Army Sergeant Nicholas Tomko during the Memorial Day race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 2003, Sgt. Tomko was serving as a door gunner on Baghdad night patrol when he was shot and killed by enemy fire. As part of the sport-wide NASCAR® Salutes program, Ally and the Hendrick Motorsports No. 48 team will honor Sgt.
